ARTIST STATEMENT
Using the natural world for inspiration, often as metaphor, my painted images seek to invite the viewer to stop and perhaps rethink or reinterpret the accepted norm. The high contrasts of the chiaroscuro, add not just a visual literal depth, but also reference the unseen.

Simple but complex, we view the still life that is not so still.

More recent work references the geometry and symmetry that adds form and structure to our world.
