Artist Statement
Deeply informed by growing up in rural Victoria, my work often draws on the stories passed down through my family who have always made a living on the land. My practice functions as a way to articulate my personal experiences and acts as a platform to consider the broader issues of the body as absent or fragmented. The title for this series not only refers to the arduous methods of production but also describes physical motion, an act of tenderness, a sensual experience perceived through the skin.
